Politics of Pandemics

Politics of Pandemics looks at the political and global implications of pandemics, including COVID-19 as well as historic epidemics and viruses. It considers the impact and influence of global health governance arrangements. It also examines the role of political authority, and different systems of democratic governance, with respect to alternative policy responses and varying health outcomes. Three hours (lectures and discussion); one term.
